Testing tactics in the cloud

Here is to talk about some tactics that are about how your test approach should change to address those risks, along with guidance for how and what to test specifically.

Firstly, you should shift architecture and “soft” point. Secondly is hooks and scaffolding. Then the third point is from risks to testing and the last tactic is putting it all together. Testing for cloud architectures introduces new challenges to debugging, to reproducing problems and to predicting performance.

Static analysis – the king in the land of software testing

There is a forum about ‘Static Analysis’, whose topic is ‘what can static analysis find that other forms of testing cannot’. Every participant gave their opinions, some of which are very heart-stirring. For example, one member said “when compared to other forms of testing, it is not simply a question about which metric/metrics static analysis helps with.” He also mentioned that there are various ways to look at how static analysis provides a cost-effective and usually easy-to-use way to improve the quality of code as it is developed.

Software Testing Moves Higher up the IT Agenda

Nowadays more and more companies realize the relationship between business’ reputation and the quality of the software. Investments in quality assurance have been rising when it puts in front of customers.

However, just when business leaders realize the significant of the quality of the software, a new global survey of 1,200 business and IT executives, surveyed by Capgemini and Hewlett-Packard, finds that much of the application testing being done still relies on manual processes that tend to be cumbersome and time consuming.

Software testing: Apple’s iPad with its rivals

Nowadays the competition is very intense. To Apple’s iPad, many rivals need to consider. HP has its TouchPad queued up. Samsung has its 10-inch Galaxy Tab on the market. Research in Motion shipped 500,000 PlayBooks in its most recent quarter and everyone has some sort of tablet on the runway. They have the same target: Apple. Short of avoiding iTunes or loving Flash, it’s hard to find a good reason to tell somenoe to skip the iPad for any of the rivals. Unless rivals elbow their way into that recommendation it’s hard to see them competing with the iPad.

Why Agile should not marginalize softwar testers

As we know, many software development cultures put testing at the end of the development processes. However, according to Scott Barber, a software test consultant, some in Agile development want to prsh testing and testers even further out of the picture.

Chief Technologist of PerfTestPlus Barber said that software testers not only should feel the pinch of Agile’s short iterations more than any group on development teams, but also may find their roles reduced.
